What is Onimusha: Way of the Sword?
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a single-player action adventure from Capcom built around close-quarters swordplay. You play a young Miyamoto Musashi during his wandering years, arriving in an early-Edo Kyoto that has been swallowed by miasma and overrun by Genma.
The combat centres on reading your opponent rather than out-damaging them. Parry and deflect windows, the reflex dodge, the Issen counterattack and the Oni Gauntlet weapon set all reward timing over button mashing. Structure is stage-based and linear, with larger areas for side content rather than a full open world.
This wiki keeps those two categories apart: official Capcom statements and hands-on impressions are labelled separately, and anything not yet announced is marked unconfirmed rather than filled in with guesses.
